We are a local, family-owned, Authentic New York Style Stone oven Pizzeria and Italian restaurant. All our food is carefully prepared from scratch using only the freshest, all-natural ingredients that are sourced both locally and imported.

Max’s is conveniently located in Dare Centre at milepost 6 3/4 bypass in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina and had been open since March of 2014. We have been residents of the Outer Banks since 1999 and love our home and our wonderful community. Grant (Le Cordon Bleu, Paris, France graduate) as head chef, has an unwavering commitment to prepare good food using traditional technics with all-natural ingredients and his recipes, and had been in the food industry since 1985. Natalya had been in the restaurant industry since 1999 and the one who is running front of the house. We are making our dough fresh daily using only “King Arthur” never bleached and never bromated flour, and only "Stanislaus" vine-ripe tomatoes from California (that get harvested only at the pick of the season and go right from the field to the can in less than three hours) to make our pizza sauce and our homemade marinara. Our dough, pizza sauce and marinara are vegan friendly. We exclusively use “Bacio” all-natural made from only milk and enzymes Italian premium traditional mozzarella with a “kiss of buffalo milk” that freshly grated daily on site. You can choose between old classic favorites like cheese or pepperoni pie or go with one or few of our specialty pizzas. All of our New York style pizza pies along with calzones and Stromboli are hand tossed and baked to perfection in a “Marsal & Sons” brick oven.           Our commitment to authentic, fresh food doesn’t end there. All the vegetables at Max’s are fresh and cut in house and our bread is baked locally by “Proof Bakery” daily. And Max’s Italian Restaurant isn’t just about great pizza. Customers won’t be able to resist popular menu items crafted right in the restaurant, including mouthwatering meatballs, lasagna, manicotti and house-roasted Italian sausage. Other favorites include homemade mozzarella sticks, fresh-pressed paninis and a variety of hot oven-baked subs made using only premium deli meats, as well as homemade soup, fresh salads and scrumptious desserts.

Max’s also hosts a diverse selection of local, domestic, imported and micro-brewed beers along with carefully selected fine wines, as well as traditional and hand-crafted sodas & natural organic juices. Along with these delicious menu items and more, customers will love the family-friendly atmosphere while being immersed in the local art by Barbara Noel and Ann Rubino, giving the dining room cozy feel. We are open year-round serving Lunch and Dinner. Our customers can also enjoy Max’s menu in the comfort of their own home. Take Out and Free Delivery of the entire menu, along with its beer and wine selection, is available to southern part of Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, most of Kill Devil Hills (sorry, but we can’t deliver past Fire Station in Colington and back to the Nags Head Woods section) and Nags Head up to Jockey's Ridge.We hope that once you experience the great food, fun atmosphere and welcoming staff, Max’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria will quickly become your family favorite!
